For the past two years we’ve been hopping back and forth between our life in Brooklyn and our home in North Carolina…and everywhere in between. New York has been (and will continue to be) a jolt of caffeine, vibrancy, and life for us — but these southern hills keep us sane and inspire our work in a tremendous way. So much so that we have decided to dig in a little deeper and drop anchor for the time being on a tiny farm in western North Carolina (nearby Winston-Salem, Charlotte, Asheville).

What does this mean for our couples and what we do? Not a thing of course! We travel up and down the east coast like before, just with a different home base. We are, however, looking forward to going a bit deeper in the southeast. Any-who, Dustin took these photos on some backroads near our house, oh-so luscious right? Feel free to hop on over to our editorial site for more from these backroads and stay tuned here for a lot more excitement to come! And as always, thanks so much for continuing to follow along!

We recently had a roll of mystery film developed. What I mean is, there has been a roll of film stashed in the back of a drawer and neither of us can remember what’s on it.
Well, it was the beginning of spring. Photos taken from our medium format documenting the change of seasons in New York. And one of Whitney working on her other passion.

Although we can’t enjoy decorations in our own home this holiday season, we have found a few around our neighborhood..

We were driving down Broughton St. in downtown Savannah last week and realized the holidays have swooped in. Lights, trees, wreaths in all the store fronts. We also realized that because we’ll be mid-move during the holidays this year and won’t be able to decorate appropriately, our time with lights and trees would be limited. So we strung some up in the house and took pictures of – well – each other (and big Dexter boy).

Yeah, that’s right. It’s fall. We went to the fair. Dustin ate some real bad food he is regretting tonight. But we got some real beauties – and that makes it all go down a little easier. Enjoy some love from the Coastal Empire Fair.
